24th of July... a family day

Aaron had the day off for the holiday so we decided rather than squander our day sitting around the house we would take advantage of the time together, the season passes we have and the weather. So we got up, got dressed and headed to Seven Peaks Salt Lake.
The morning started with squeals of delight when I put Lindsay in her swimsuit!!!
Oh my gosh she is so cute!!!!

Jared with his "cheese" smile!
He is still a bit hesitant of the water.  He wants to get in, but doesn't want to get in, unlike Trevor the little fish! No fear, no reservation just jumps right in!

Andrew and Landon decided to try the rope walk and did great.

It was funny because Andrew was the one struggling to keep his balance all the way across and Landon just cruised along, and then he fell off right here and Andrew made it the last few feet.  Over confidence caught up to him.  He went right back in line and didn't fall off again.
Jared really wanted to go on the slide, but he wouldn't walk across the pool to the steps so Andrew was a good big brother and took him over.  One time down though and he was content to sit on the side of the pool for the day.  Silly boy, but easiest to keep track of!

Trev couldn't be out done and wanted to do the rope walk too.
He marched right across and did fantastic.  Such a dare devil.

Lindsay and I got all ready and we did the Lazy River with the boys.  She squirmed a bit when she would get her legs wet but slept through the entire thing.  Never even knew she went "swimming".

Jared, Lindsay and I went back to our towels to feed her, and him, and have a little rest. My two sweet babies.  Love them!!!

After a couple hours of swimming we got dressed and headed to lunch.  We ended up at Red Robin, because there is NOTHING else on Foothill Drive... FYI.
The boys were out of control loud and crazy at the restaurant but lunch was yummy!

When we had finished eating we headed up the road to the Hogle Zoo.  We bought a membership in April and thought we would go see the animals again.  NOT going again until it cools down.  It was SO HOT!!!!

To say Jared likes going to the zoo is an understatement.  He LOVES the animals and at every single attraction we had to pull him away.  He wanted to sit and watch everything and not keep moving.  It was super cute, and super annoying because it was getting late and we were so hot.  He loves Zuri, the baby elephant.  I do too, she is so cute following her mommy around everywhere.
This was Lindsay's first visit to the zoo...
memorable I am sure :)

The bald eagles.

And the main attraction... THE POLAR BEAR.
They came in May when I had just had the baby (like 6 days old) and the polar bear was doing some cool acrobatic tricks in the water.  It was neat, I saw it on the video Aaron took.  Today however he was out of the water and playing with his ball.  He really does have a super cute face.  I don't know what his name is, or if he is actually a she even, but Trevor has named him Snowy.  He has a webkinz polar bear and he named him Snowy... that is why.  So he is in the glass with all these people trying to see the bear, so excited saying, "Hi Snowy. Hi Snowy."

We had a very late BBQ which was yummy and then made ice cream for our ice cream sundae bar...
THE PROBLEM: We ran out of rock salt and so it wouldn't freeze. HAHA.
So, after 2 1/2 hours I finally sent Aaron to the store and the kids to bed, it was already after 10, with the promise of ice cream bar sundaes for breakfast... which by the way they LOVED!!!!
After he got the right salt it only took 15 more minutes... so at 11 it was ready!
It was such a super fun, hot, wonderful family day.
Grateful that we were able to take advantage of it and enjoy it together.
Love my family!!!!
